On the evening I visited the zoo, I managed to put a hole in an pair of Leona Edmiston herringbone tights (from Mr Kitty, too!) with thanks to the velcro patches under my laptop (for attaching those half-spheres to). Cut.

The following day, I went to the mall in Chadstone. There is a free shuttle service from the city so Jess and I got two seats amidst some bogans from Tasmania and other randoms. God, those women just wouldn’t shut the fuck up. The bus driver asked if they were all cousins. LOLOLOL. There were so many girls with fake Chanel bags that I wanted to puke. Tacky as heck!

Picked up a pair of Puppy Pants from Peter Alexander for Mr Kitty so now we have matching PJ PANTS OMG SO EXCITING. -
-Snagged two headbands from David Jones for really really cheap - $21 all up!

-Bow clip (cream) from Forever New and another clip from DJs

-Layered black skirt on sale from Sportsgirl (cbf to take pics)

Okay I also bought other stuff but I also cbf, as usual, to talk about them. I went to the aquarium on Monday and HAD SO MUCH FUNNNNZ seeing PENGUINS

If you have me on your Facebook, you can check out my zoo and aquarium pictures :)

I also headed down to Geelong to pay Eliiiiza a visit (I actually do type ‘Eliii..’ not on purpose with all the iiiii’s) and go hit up the op-shops! I had a blast listening to Lily Allen in the car and being driven around while not having any idea where I was. I am also very very pleased with my finds! I am rather fussy, and haven’t found anything nice in the op-shops in Fitzroy when I went, so I was a little doubtful I could find second-hand things I would pay for. Hit the jackpot when I spied a lacy camisole on a rack and pulled it out. ‘CUE’ read the tag and it looked pretty much nearly brand new. I beckoned- okay, maybe I screamed for Eliza to take a look. On her encouragement I tried it on and IT FIT!! SO I BOUGHT IT! It only cost me 50 cents. I am so chuffed!!

Look at it, so pretty!!

img_0144

I also picked up two scarves at this BIIIIIIG warehouse-like place with many random things, not excluding a PINK FRIDGE and a scary black mannequin wearing a sort of … idk wedding dress? with her hair everywhere! I yelled bloody murder on sight of its expression, which I DID NOT expect went my eyes went a-looking up. :( Oh, that is my blue cardigan peeking out from being the scarves, thrifted for 16 bucks :)

We hit up KMart and I got some nail polishes for cheap!

Two on the left are for my Mum, and the two on the right for ME!!! :D

Very very triple tres awesome. Gonna catch Transformers tonight, wooo!

Paid a visit to the Melbourne Zoo yesterday with Mr Kitty and my friend Jess, and while zoo trips are as usual, fun– because you get to see animals in person and conversely, I felt rather sorry for the existence of the animals behind those wire fences, watching on as a Sumatran tiger pace along a small length of its enclosure. The lone bongo sat listlessly in a corner as the platypus swam back and forth in its tank while four male lions shared a living space.

Captivity’s main rationale is to breed vulnerable species to maintain a level of gene flow so that extinction can be prevented, and so that the public can appreciate wildlife up close and personal. The idea is also to reintroduce animals back into the wild. The problem is, animals bred in captivity usually have a hard time readjusting to the wild, and given as to how the world is right now, where can they go?

If being protected means staying in a limited space for the rest of your life, but also like a fairground attraction, why would you want to live?

exams are over!!!

June 19th, 2009

I am officially free from the exams! Taking some time to get used to it.

Went shopping after the paper yesterday… I know… I know… But I am leaving, I am allowed… right? :( Picked up a pair of earrings from Diva for $3 down from 19.90!! YAAAA! Also, a black dress/slip thing and a white spag strap from Supre for layering under sheer stuff. I found Alphaville, so I broke down and bought the accordian-pleated scarf that I have been ogling online for quite time time now. I spent awhile contemplating the purchase, so it’s definitely not an impulse buy. Mr Kitty did not seem to be impressed with the scarf, though :( But heey, I am the fashionista here, okay?!

Anyway, I wanted to write about the slow loris, which I like very much. I wanted to put in more animals that I also like, but I am getting tired, so I will just do one today!

Slow Loris

slowloris

Look at that face, how can you not love it? The slow loris is also the only primate with venom.. Isn’t that awesome? They create toxin from their elbows and puts it in its mouth so that its bite is poisonous! Sadly, they are an endangered species because those idiot village witchdoctor types think that slow loris parts such as their eyes and urine have medicinal properties.

Everyone and their mother has to watch this video, it is one of my favourite things to watch on youtube:

Gah, so sleepy now! Will definitely be going to bed real soon, but anyway, done with two papers, yeaaaah! Couple more to go though :( Over it.

I was a baddie and went shopping right after the first paper, because I just had to get the new Peter Alexander puppy-print PJ pants, they are so adorable, I can’t wait to wear them! Also picked up a black pencil skirt from Sportsgirl, it’s very comfy! Laid off the shopping on Friday, but caved again today: black miniskirt from TEMT (only $20!!! CHEAP! Wanted to get one from Sportsgirl for 59.90, heh, glad I didnt!! WOOHOO) and then I wandered into PIlgrim and walked out, only to go back in and bite the bullet, trying on a dress I was eyeing on my first visit. It was a little too long and starkingly white for my liking, but the salesgirl mentioned I could probably go a size down, and took out a gray one- IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND FITS SO WELL :’) So I bought it T_T

Haz a srs prblm.

Stalked Wittner for a pair of shoes I spotted on their website but THEY NO HAS. Oh well, saves me some money I guess :P Paid a visit to the pet store as usual, they had Border Collie pups! SO CUTE OMFG I WANT ONE :( Both were sold, how sad, but it’s not like I can buy one, pah!

Lemming a pair of bow-patterned stockings at Alannah Hill. *twitch* Okay okay time to put a stop on it. Those stockings, maybe a few pairs from Myer (:P), plus spag stap tops from Supre and I am done, promise! Fine, I take back that promise, but I will try very hard to not buy anything else!

MEH.

This is more like my shopping blog than anything, huh!? I finally got around to handwashing half of the items I bought from Witchery last night, but I have more things to wash now because yours truly hit the shops again. I blame it on exam stress!!!1 *hyperventilates*

This time, I hit up Peter Alexander. Have I mentioned I love sales? And I hate it when people are talking loudly in the doorway outside. Damn neighbours, Imma kill them. But anyway, PICTURE TIME ^_^

FOXES AND RACCOONS AND OWLS

FOXES AND RACCOONS AND OWLS

SO CUTE RIGHT!? I WANT TO GO OUT IN THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT AWESOME.

CUPCAKE

NOM

YAY

I don’t like wearing sleeveless clothes but this looks awesome under a cardigan. And I have no intention of wearing it as PJs. Too much of a waste. 50% off AWESOME SHIT.

photo-105

I am a spazz. This is a really cute shirt that comes with a black ribbon ‘belt’. Also not gonna wear it as PJs, duh. 50% off too! :D:D

My shopping demon is insatiable. I need to be EXORCISED.

Current lemmings:
- Black miniskirt [Okay, I actually need this because the only one I have has gone out of shape and disgusting]
- Black patent Christian Louboutin Decolletes

cl

UGH. The red soles look fucking awesome. Why I want real ones instead of some fake crap: because if the red is already pretentious (*SNOB*), then it would only make you look like a pathetic snob to wear cheapo ones. If you wanna be snobby, keep it reaaaaal, chyeahhhhhh. All right. Next.
- Black and white spaghetti strapped tops for wearing under translucent stuff. Specifically from Supre cause I can be a cheap bastard too and surprisingly okay quality for those, I can attest to that.
- Cream coloured stockings (fingers crossed they won’t make me look fatz), and dare I say, patterned ones?

On another note: WHERE IS MR KITTY?! COME BACK :(

I need to continue study now :(

Boo hoo.

life’s simple pleasures

June 6th, 2009

While out during lunch at Lygon St. on Friday, this amazing mind of mine twigged that there was a Witchery store there, and so some burning plastic was to be had after stomachs were filled. Hereby crowning Witchery my favourite store, knocking Country Road off the top of the list! Ooh and there is also LUSH, I love that place, I go there so much that the super camp sales assistant recognized me while I was there with Eliza (who got me gift vouchers to LUSH for my birthday- THANK YOU :D I am going to pick up some Angels on Bare Skin) the other time; he usually says hi to Mr Kitty though, not me AHAHHAA ;) He obviously thinks Mr Kitty is pretty HEHEHE :D

I think I will do a picture post with my Witchery loot after the exams, but we’ll see how that goes.

Totally struggling to get study done yesterday and today. Meant to take a nap for 20 mins but passed out for an hour instead. Asked LQ out to dinner because I had nothing in particular really to eat at home and we went for Korean BBQ on the corner of Russell/Lonsdale! It was awesome, got the mixed meat bbq- beef, chicken and PIG, the marinate is just one of the best sauces ever- I will be missing that place and will definitely go back again before having to return to SG! BBQ on a drizzling wintery day is just fantastic, don’t you think? We also had hot chocolate at Max Brenner’s! Double sin. It was freezing and we had to sit outside amongst smelly smokers because it was packed! Also they are fail because it’s WINTER for fuck’s sake and their heaters are OUT OF GAS? HOW CAN THIS BE!?!?!?! ARGH. I DIE.

I came home intending to take a bath, but I can’t be bothered to scrub the bathtub. It has to be pristine if I have to lay in it, y’know!? I settled instead with the usual extremely hot showers but with LUSH’s You Snap The Whip body butter and well, I don’t know what it is but it’s the bar soap with the pinkish colour and coconut. I SMELL LIKE DESSERT NOW. And I have to get back to studying now because otherwise I will be dead.

One week to exams and I am the furthest thing away from being prepared. Currently camping in the uni computer lab so that I won’t fall asleep while studying at home. It has happened. Completely passed out and woke up two hours later going WAT.

My head feels foggy like the weather :(

I am going to motivate myself by thinking of all the amazing shopping I did yesterday; 5 tops from Witchery (stuff down to 19.90 ish from 89.90/119.90, how can you resist!), 1 cardi from FCUK (39.90 down from 89.90), Elle MacPherson and Calvin Klein lingerie (30% off at Myer). Sales FTW!!!!

Okay, I am so motivated now. I shall continue to battle through Gary Hime’s lectures.

Also, I hope Mr Kitty gets this job offer, so wish him luck too :):) He cooked this Chicken Kiev (or shall we say Kyiv as the Ukrainians insist?) thing the other night which was really good, and he also prepped the guacamole for our nachos, which tasted pretty good too, unlike what I has expected from seeing the green mass :P Mr Kitty– I don’t give him enough credit for his cooking ^_^

whatever you want

May 31st, 2009

Went to a Skeptics event thing yesterday organized by Mr Kitty and his skeptic type people, where there were more skeptic type people from Sydney who came down to give some talks to skepticky audience. The talks were pretty good- I didn’t fall asleep, which means it has to be of some good quality, but did I feel Awkward with a capital A, like I didn’t belong there at all, which isn’t anyone’s fault, although it felt akin to turning up to a Star Wars costume party in a Teletubbies suit. Not that I have ever done that.

Really.

It seems like a favourite question from people at these events is “So you do science at uni, are you into skepticism like (Mr Kitty)?” -to which my answer is no, obviously, because I can’t be fucked/have no patience for that kind of thing/don’t care. And they are 90% (source: me AKA unreliable source) likely to say something along the lines of “Oh, that is strange, (Mr Kitty) did art but he’s really into science!” Sry, but I just. Can’t. Be. Fucked. “No, no, I just do so much of it that I am kind of jaded by it all!” I will respond with a laugh. DNW. Just…. don’t ask.

And I also stand around awkwardly/nervously, fiddling with something, looking around the place like a lost child, and I say rubbish like “I like rice”, I should be locked away from social events. No, I don’t need to be locked away since I have no desire to attend them at all and meet random people and have the chance to be really awkward and twitchy. Consider it taking mercy on me. Still, I am very proud of Mr Kitty and his involvement in this event and although I was terrible at being sociable and crap, I am glad I went.

Went out for dinner with Mr Kitty, and I had rice(HAHA)! Oh, I love that stuff so much!!!! :O Dope. There was a trio sitting next to us and they were having the stupidest conversation ever, just catching snippets of it made my brains leak out from my ears and my IQ a single digit. Can’t be bothered listing what they said because my IQ will turn into a negative integer.

We also watched Night at the Museum 2, which was quite all right for a casual laugh and overall- quite an enjoyable movie, but definitely got draggy at times. JUST GET TO THE DAMN POINT FFS. Like when Napoleon was repeating some line. First time was enough, really! Okay, I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t watched it.

There was a protest in the city today by a group of Indian students, about their safety and that law-enforcers are not doing enough for them (or something or nothing or whatever)- :| Protest all you want but they blocked most of the city’s tram lines and were a nuisance for lots of other innocent people who need to commute. If you want to protest, go stand in front of the police station or something, get the fuck off the road.

Finally Finished the bar of Almond Gold! I should never buy a whole bar of chocolate again, fatty! Anyway, Almond Gold is one of my favourite chocolates, even though it isn’t ‘gourmet’, expensive, or exclusive. Here’s an example that something delicious doesn’t have to cost a bomb. It’s not too sweet (I hate it when chocolates make my throat sore because of how sugary they are), is very tasty and nutty and full of almonds. My lip ulcer does not like me at the moment because of said almonds due to the unnecessary exfoliation they were treated to. I have this spot on my lip which I tend to bite on in my sleep that I bit into, HARD, while eating the other day, so there’s been an angry ulcer for the past few days.

Being an idiot, I have subsequently burnt it with hot spoons, hot soups and bit into it again, so it is never going to heal!!!!

Also, TGIF! Submitted my (crappy) essay, went to uni, ate two onigiris for lunch, had an appointment with the psychiatrist, and watched a Japanese movie called Handsome Suit. It is also the last academic day of uni, which means the exams loom even closer than over. OMFG, I DIE. NOOOOO *melts*

So anyway, Handsome Suit is about this really ugly man who is given a suit that makes the wearer handsome when put on. It is like stereotypical anime only with real people acting. Think ’sweatdrop’ moments, dancing and over-reacting Japanese people, and fainting Japanese teenage girls. Kind of reminded me of the Korean movie, 200 Pound Beauty, which is about a 200lbs fatty who undergoes plastic surgery and all that shit.

And now, I will put a random picture of Mr Kitty which amuses me endlessly:

May 28th, 2009

Guten morgen!

A post because 1. Mr Kitty asked me to and 2. I still don’t know what to wear today. And now, a picture, because this blog has no pictures yet and because I am very diligent and put on makeup.

Floppy Dog 1 et moi

Floppy Dog 1 is much better at posing for photos than Mr Kitty, so I am taking pictures with it instead. Yes, there is also a Floppy Dog 2 but it wouldn’t fit into my luggage so I take Dog 1 when I travel.

I have a new mascara but those photos don’t do it justice- it is the Fibre Lash by ModelCo and it comes with a tube of FIBRE…. Actual fibre, not some white mascara. So its like little white cottony bits you put to your lashes and then coat it over with normal mascara and TADAHHH LASHES ON A LASHLESS PERSON LIKE ME :D

Oh yes, I went back to Country Road and picked up a beautiful maroon-coloured scarf! It is so soft and awesome. Also, I just found my cashmere cardigan carelessly tossed over the clothes rack- MR KITTY, IMMA TEAR YOU TO SHREDS.

I might write another post tonight but don’t count on it- I have a 1000 word essay to complete by tomorrow and the current word count stands at 0.

PEACE. (aka I need to get dressed for uni now)
